Hi Brent, due to its complex curvy shape, I used the Sculpt tool for at least 95% of its creation/body work. There was no way I was going to do it by creating creating many sketch planes and lofting between them, and such. Probably wouldn't have been able to achieve the seamlessness of the form without the sculpt tool, or at least not easily. The more geometric things, such as the wheels, I used sketches from which I then extruded, cut, and combined forms. The orange and the blue parts of the main body are modeled as separate forms.
If you'd like to know more, feel free to ask.
Andrew, just beautiful. I love the aggresive 'shoulders' with the recessed cockpit in between. How did you go about getting the exterior shell geometry?
Jeff is awesome !
wonderful
Hi everyone! Thanks for all your great comments!
@Hussein Hamada: Had I modeled the internals parts, I totally would have shown them in the gallery. However, I know nothing about the internals of F1 race cars. In any case, I was really only interested in trying to model Jeff Smith's drawing.
@Vigneshvaran S K: Haha... yeah. After taking a closer look at the drawing and the model, the way things currently are would absolutely lock up the steering! lol. Whoops!
Can you show the internal parts like the engine?
Vigneshvaran S K, you're right!
Really nice design. Great environment too!
I think the front wing will resist steering....
Amazing! Only thing I would refine is the back. Looks a bit flat. But overall great work!
Really a nice design!
