Description

The project is a Municipality Plan with Impact Assessment of the new road "Rv. 23 Linnes-E18". InfraWorks was used to visualize all alternatives (consepts) that were considered during the process. In addition, GIS data was exported from ArcGIS and imported in InfraWorks with all information as object data. Buildings was imported as CityGML/IMX, property data as coverage and subsurface rock and soil as coverages. Custom schemas was created to map all GIS object data. This enabled us to do analysis on both property data such as building types and property/realestate values but also rock and soil types along the different corridors.

Environmental Value maps was also imported and draped over the model, this was especially useful during the Impact Assessment phase.

The InfraWorks model was used by the entire project team including the Norwegian Public Roads Administration (Project Owner).

Comments

Thank you Fernando. I only wish it would have been even easier to import GIS data in InfraWorks. Today it is only possible via workarounds and custom chemas.
