Description
What better way to celebrate the new Hunger Games movie, Catching Fire, than with a mockingjay pin? I created the entire model in Fusion 360, and even used the built-in ray tracing for the rendering. Used quite a few splines in the design :) Can't wait to create some more renders. I'm planning on even 3D printing a couple of these, and I will definitely upload pictures once I do! LINK to the 3D Model: https://grabcad.com/library/mockingjay-pin-1 EDIT: Added a picture after I 3D printed the model and rendered in KeyShot

This looks amazing - nice job! Is there a 3D model available that I could print out?

I love the approach you took on this. I would have been stuck for hours tinkering with surface detailing. You just went with an imported decal image to trace over and simple/efficiently created extrusions. Looks GREAT. Plus loving the machined look on the rendered metal.

Hi Taylor, You are really really good! I think a Gold Plated Brass or a Polished Brass Version will be super good! I think you might have to hand assemble a pin at the back. OR, use small magnet to tape on the shirt or dress... Super magnetic person after that!

Entirely too rad, Taylor. You should def spend me a 3D printed version! :)

Probably around 1.5 - 2 hours

How long did it take?

X176

No geometry was imported - Only used a reference image on a canvas for overall shape and most of the detail. About 25% of the details were freehand sketches, while the rest where referencing the image

Wow... This took you how long, with all that detail? Are the curves imported?
