Hello there Curious Minds,
This is a carbon fiber quadcopter drone Frame (300 mm Diag.) capable of mounting a minimum of 2 and a maximum of 3 cameras (1 FPV Camera and 1 Action Camera on the front and 1 Action Camera on the back). It is still in Alpha stage, but so far I designed it so it has basic features and functions, such as:
An electronically actuated "Gimbal Joint" that is able to stabilize the FPV camera during flight (RunCam Swift in this design) in one plane axis (looking up and looking down). This feature requires a servo motor and an "Arduino Chip" and a whole-lot-of wiring know how. The "Mobius Mount" can be adjusted manually using the tightening knobs on the sides, allowing the user to adjust the angle before taking flight. It can also take on a 6 inch propellor with ease. P.S. If you are/aren't interested in any of the features but/also are still interested in the shape of the Frame, leave a comment below or try contacting me through my email provided. I want to see if people in the drone racing or drone free-styling scene would be interested in the design of the frame. All praises and criticisms will be duly noted.
Drawbacks include: It limits you to certain types of cameras. It might be a little too heavy for extremely competitive racing given the implementation of 3 carbon fiber plates. But you can still achieve high speeds using your pre-assumed motor selection savviness. The cameras used as examples can be switched out with a camera you are more comfortable with in the future, when I have other designed mounts available for other specific cameras. But, for now I think the cameras I used as an example are great and very affordable. (BTW I am not affiliated with the camera companies listed above).
This is my first published attempt at creating something a certain demographic would probably love. Moreover, I will be posting a go-fund-me page soon if I get good feed back on this project. Thank you for reading the description all the way through, and remember to stay innovative.
