Description

I made a couple of my own Trezor v1.1s, from their open source files on Github -- because I can and it was a tonne cheaper than buying them from Europe, like a 10th or so.

Anyway, I have a consumer CNC machine, which can sort of cut alumin[i]um, on a good day and I wanted to see if I could make a metal case. Since the CAD files are not shared by the Trezor team (far as I can find) I had to start from scratch, based on their 3DP STL files and the PCBs I had made. Ultimately, I have not been able to machine the case on the CNC to my satisfaction, mostly due to inadequate fixturing and skills therein, for a two operation, double sided job. sigh Maybe I'll try again someday but for now, I'm kind of over it.

I did however manage to machine the inside of the main case and verify that the PCB and OLED display were a good fit, after a few iterations. Alas, I cannot find the thing now and have vague recollections of tossing it it one day in disgust. LOL In the end, I settled for the ugly but functional 3D printed version, as pictured.

Oh, a "Trezor" is a crypto currency hard wallet. https://trezor.io

This cannot be printed unless you convert it into one of the popular formats like STL...trying to work out how to do it

Did you actually "print" this?
Would love to see the final product and find out how it went disassembling the plastic one and replacing with metal.
All pictures are just renderings unfortunatly :-(
