Description

This is the foyer design for the 15,000 S.F. mansion that's in my portfolio. It's designed in a more traditional style, but not completely traditional I left out all the heavy trim-work that would usually be the norm for a house of this magnitude. Also notice the coloring leans a bit more to the transitional style.

Hi Sam. I am a 44 yr old returning student studying biotechnology and on this site because I was hoping to use the software for a dovetailing interest in nanotechnology and as a tool to simulate organic chemistry multistep reactions as animated 3D imaging. The nanotechnology department presumes a working knowledge of AutoCAD so I figured I would get a jump while I am finishing up the first degree. All this is actually irrelevant to this post, I am just childishly excited that this is the first image I saw in the gallery. I would give anything to find a drawing I did in 3rd grade, (I think), of the atrium of my dream house because I swear, this is it! I was eight, and I had to draw it on paper, but I vividly remember being told that the structure couldn't be built the way I had drawn it as I had not included the stairs and didn't have weight-bearing elements to support the circular space. Ha! As I type this, it seems like it was a fairly advanced assignment for kids, but the fact that I remember the assignment so vividly after so many years left me with no choice but to say something. I simply had to thank you for exquistely creating the atrium of my childhood dreams. Who knew I only needed an imperial staircase? Thank you! I have never used any of these software suites, but it's a little like magic finding this as the first project example. Thank you!

Hi, Is this created just using Revit and rendering in a360?

X120

Thanks a lot! I really appreciate it. I think all the revit families in this project are from revitcity.com. The trim work I molded with the model-in- place sweep feature.

User_x176

Excellent work! Can you share the revit families you used in this model?
Thanks

Thanks, the railings are either from the Revit library or from Revitcity can't remember for sure, but I did change some settings from the default, I also changed the materials.

X120

Thanks a lot, I did notice that the railing penetrates into the wall the reason it's the way it is, is because the wall separating that side is the master suit and I wanted it to be centered to the exterior windows, but hopefully I'll get back to it sometime soon and figure something out.
All the best, I really appreciate your comments.

X120

Outstanding. It's even better now. (I don't know if you spotted it, because I didn't before),but your upper railing penetrates the wall on the right hand side. Like I said before though, you clearly know how to use the Revit modeling tools very well.

X120

Thanks I really appreciate your comment, there are still quite a few things that I want to fix up mainly the skylight area, also the rest of the renderings I didn't update yet according to the new colorings, I guess it'll have to wait just a bit till I finish up some of my current projects.

X120

Very nice. Have you considered rendering this as a (stereo) panorama? I think that would be stunning.
Maybe drop/elongate the size of the wooden floor panels - they look a tiny bit larger than life. The ceramic floor tiles also look a bit too glossy/flat to be real. Perhaps you could add a bump map to roughen them up a little. Excellent work though. Your modeling skills are superb.

Nice design, I think with some of the artificial lighting on it would look so much more sharp. also a bit more trim work on walls would add a whole lot.
